@Brandon_Beaber@spinacademics@theASFNR History on the slide. This is young person with myotonic dystrophy type 1. White matter lesions, esp subcortical temporal characteristic, with thenar percussion myotonia demonstrated. Also note the thick calvarium and hyperpneumatised frontal sinus.
@UddhavaKinhal@spinacademics@theASFNR Mother was affected, less severely though, without any cognitive deficits. This is expected as with subsequent generations the CTG microsatellite repeats are expected to expand further beyond the critical 38 number. More than 50 repeats are almost always pathological.
Question to Neurorads, not to MR physicists....😜 What's the difference between a Spin Echo DWI and GRE DWI as far as placement and polarity of the dephasing and rephasing diffusion sensitising gradients and why so?
Join us for an exciting Spinner of the Month session featuring Dr Bejoy Thomas, SCTIMST as he presents fascinating Pediatric Neuroradiology Cases 🧠
