@BrooketheOstomy Brooke we are clearly from different generations, but, you have to have passion to do this job, and that passion is part of your life and part of your being. It is not a bad thing.
@docmartin22@kheirbek @DissanaikeMD @SamirGadepalli In general I agree. When it is a 6 year old at the end of a 5 week ECMO run for poorly managed pancreatic transaction, late transfer needing laparotomy and a 70 plus unit MTP you take what you can get and I will be glad to remove the skin graft and cLose that abdomen some day.
@KBrookeGolisch As it should be. We have the best job in the world. The lows can get pretty low, but the highs? Absolutely the best and usually way more of them.
@JJcolemanMD@uofl@UofLDeptofSurg@UofLHealth That’s awesome. What a great step up and you’re also closer to those Vols now. Need to request box seats at the Derby every year in your contract!
@IanMitchellMD I am amazed at how few residents no how to throw knots “squarely” and just throw “granny hitch” after “granny hitch”. They are also extremely thankful when I take the time to show them how. Also, lifting the patient off the table while tying is in general frowned upon.
