Semien is not a bad contract? Polanco, paying a guy $20 million a year who has a history of only playing a few games. Manaea is not a bad contract? These are terrible contracts over multiple years. Don’t forget about Montas I know we don’t have him on books next year and get your point but contract is so bad I had to mention him. Stearns has shown zero ability to manage free agents not to mention the lack of quality long term contracts keeps him from improving the rotation. Stearns found lightening in a bottle in Milwaukee he will never duplicate the rotations he had there in this market unless he finds them in the minors which is a crap shoot. He is not made for New York that demands long term players they can cheer for and are quality. He has not been successful in NY and will not be successful unless he changes his strategy.
I do not belong to a political party, and I cannot understand how we have reached a point where people excuse Republican misconduct because “Democrats did it too,” or vice versa.
How is it acceptable for either party to ravage the Treasury for political power, special interests, and corruption? How does anyone believe this is good for the American people or the long-term future of our country?
Great nations do not collapse overnight. They decay when loyalty to party becomes more important than accountability, fiscal sanity, and the country itself. That is how empires go broke.

I’m a registered independent. That being said, how is it okay for both Democrats and Republicans to engage in crappy behavior? This idea that one side does it means the other should be allowed to do it too needs to stop. At the end of the day all of this garbage is at the expense of everyday Americans most of whom are not billionaires.

Morabito Time!! The other rookies seem to be working, so let’s call up another.
I’m all for it, but there’s something wild about a $380 million payroll team rolling out a lineup that looks like it cost 1/3 of that almost every night.
I assumed Cohen got rich by NOT overpaying for mediocre things… but maybe I’ve had it backwards this whole time. Pay too much for crap and maybe I can be a billionaire too.

When Stearns dismissed the Mendoza questions with “you guys,” that should’ve been the moment reporters pushed harder — not backed off.
Here are 10 questions the media should actually ask:
1. Why does this roster look so fundamentally flawed despite the payroll?
2. How much of Mendoza’s decision-making is actually his own?
3. Do you dictate lineup construction or platoon usage?
4. Is the organization overly committed to lefty/righty matchups to the point that it disrupts consistency, rhythm, and player expectations more than it helps?
5. Who is making bullpen decisions?
6. Why did it take so long to promote Ewing while running out replacement-level veterans and castoffs?
7. Why do the Mets constantly punt getaway day lineups and rest regulars with so little sense of urgency?
8. Do you believe there is value in letting players settle into consistent everyday roles and lineups instead of constant shuffling?
9. Is your job security tied to Mendoza’s success or failure?
10. Why should fans trust the process when the on-field product looks this uninspired?
Instead, reporters let him smirk, scold them for asking about Mendoza, and move on. Accountability shouldn’t be optional.
@nypostsports@AdamSchein So Soto and Bichette make $575,000 a game. Basically Mendoza (assuming he is responsible for the lineup) put that cash in a pile and burned it. He just burned $575k of ticket buyer money. This is the reason Lovelady makes multiple appearances a year and Kimbrel is the setup man.
@SNYtv Luckily I live in Tampa and can substitute a
Low budget team that wins instead of a high budget team that loses and thinks it is a low budget team.
