@aStatesman Very helpful disclosure. We should normalize this fear amongst men. It’s more common than most would even think. We could all use some internal work in this area.
The J6 White men with weapons were not perceived as dangerous. Politicians, who now seem so interested in antisemitism, did not condemn 45 when he referred to White men chanting “Jews will not replace us” as “good people.” Whiteness always gets a pass.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again.
It is unethical for any medical provider to deny treatment to a patient because of religious or moral beliefs. Medicine should be patient centered. Everyone deserves to be treated with respect. #MedTwitter https://t.co/0ISEpb4art
.@drthema is always making psychology plain and relevant in the highways, byways, hallways, and the pews!! It is so important for Black men to understand the impact that stress has on our mind-bodies!! #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth
I was honored to speak @Morehouse@morehousechapel and share results from the @APA study on stress in the United States. To learn more go to https://t.co/6IzV7PxNhZ
🧵 1. DEAR ANDERSON COOPER: @AC360
Your attempt to defend your network’s decision to spotlight a treasonous dictator wanna-be was pathetic and, quite frankly, beneath you.
But you didn’t stop with defending CNN… no. You decided to then go a step further…
So powerful. In addition to politicians, we shouldn’t let
- School boards/trustees
- Religious leaders/churches
- Journalists/media personalities
define trans people for us either.

.@ProfessorCrunk once indicated that White men’s private & personal problems often become public concerns thru their enactment of violence. I think of that each time we see these assaults on & murders of human dignity. Jordan Neely deserved better.
Society has generally sanctioned the actual violence of some while demonizing the potential violence of others.
Our culture generally feminizes & devalues emotions. Yet we are bending over backwards to justify the irrational fears & worries of White male bodies. #JordanNeely
The White Supremacy of the chokehold murder: Despite killing a Mr. Neely, the White marine is regarded as a hero by some, and the police release him after questioning. White peoples’ experiences, beliefs, and feelings are preeminent even when acting on irrational fears.
The headlines regarding the chokehold murder on the NYC subway reveal how the media creates a narrative about dangerous Black men that should be feared. Jordan Neely was characterized as a “hostile and erratic” person who “harassed and threatened passengers”
The NYC chokehold murder headlines bear out the research. Black men are seen as larger and more dangerous (than White men) with a superhuman pain tolerance. The subway observers were convinced Mr. Neely would not die from a chokehold. #AntiBlackness https://t.co/ehQacCFlco
