A Mumbai govt hospital advised a pregnant woman's family to consider transferring her elsewhere, as pre-delivery fetal assessment indicates her newborn will likely require NICU care, and all of their NICU beds are currently occupied.

The woman's husband called Shiv Sena (Shinde) corporator Ramesh Mhatre, who arrived with his goons and assaulted doctors and nurses.

If you understand how hospitals work, you'll know a bed not being available is not the doctor's fault. You can't ask another critical newborn to vacate a bed, nor can you provide NICU care on the floor, nor can you "arrange bed from some other dept" because a NICU bed isn't just a bed, it comes with ventilators, monitors, oxygen, infusion pumps, and other life-support equipment.

So the blame, if any, goes on the govt. But doctors are the easiest targets, and assaulting them earns politicians easy political mileage.

I know some will say, "Doctors are evil and deserve it," and that's fine. I'm not seeking sympathy. This post is for parents and medical aspirants. Unless your parents own a hospital, you choose govt jobs with better working conditions like the Army, paramilitary, or Railways, plan to pursue USMLE (or an equivalent pathway), or intend to move to private practice where you can arrange your own security, think carefully before choosing this profession.

Most govt hospitals are hellholes. You can serve patients well for decades and still end up being abused or assaulted by a tenth-pass corporator, a publicity-hungry politician chasing cameras, or patient relatives who think every death could have been prevented if only the doctor had "tried harder."

Dear @DB_Chyawanprash,

- 59.5g out of 100g is just sugar.
- They write Sharkara instead of sugar so it sounds like some fancy herb.
- As per FSSAI rules, the main ingredient should be listed first. If sugar is almost 60%, it should be on top - not hidden in the middle.
- And on most websites, Sharkara is quietly missing from the key ingredients list.
- Also, how does 100g Chyawanprash have 90g Amla + 59.5g sugar? What maths is this?

Sir, not only now, in future also, except WHO recommended formula ORS, no sachet or tetrapack should be allowed in the pharmacies(including online), hospitals, and schools, as far as rehydrating medicines are concerned. ORS should never be allowed to be used on the labels except for WHO Recommended Formula ORS even if these liquids are being sold in the supermarkets and quick commerce platforms only! Trusting that you will ensure the October 15th order is implemented with urgency!

@Gobhiji3 The Afghani (AFN) was re-denominated in 2002 after the Taliban’s fall — three zeroes were removed from the old currency.

So, 1 new Afghani = 1,000 old Afghanis.
This made the number smaller and the exchange rate “look stronger.”
India never did such re-denomination

डॉक्टर दवाई लिखता है, उसका कार्य परीक्षण का नहीं है। परीक्षण और सत्यापन का कार्य CDSCO का है जो @MoHFW_INDIA के अंतर्गत है। इसमें डॉक्टर अपराधी तभी हो सकता है जब वो दवाई निर्माता कंपनी से पैसे ले कर, यह जानते हुए कि वह दवाई मारक है, दवाई पर्ची पर लिखे।

पुलिस को दवाई कंपनी और CDSCO के लोगों को जेल में डालना चाहिए। केवल डॉक्टर को पकड़ना यह बताता है कि भ्रष्टाचार में संलिप्त लोग कंपनी पर हाथ जालने को इच्छुक नहीं।

जिस डॉक्टर ने दवा लिखी वो गिरफ्तार, जिसने दवा पिलाई वो गिरफ्तार हो जाएगा, जिसने दवा देखी वो गिरफ्तार हो जाएगा, जिसने दवा का नाम सुना वो गिरफ्तार हो जाएगा। नहीं गिरफ्तार होगा तो दवा बनाने वाली कंपनी का मालिक, दवा के फार्मूले को टेस्ट करने वाले, लाइसेंस देने वाले अधिकारी। क्योंकि पार्टी फंड तो उनसे ही आता है न!
