Today’s reading from Hosea 10:
“Sow integrity for yourselves,
reap a harvest of kindness,
break up your fallow ground:
it is time to go seeking the Lord
until he comes to rain salvation on you.”
It’s those remaining artifacts of self-righteousness, that keep you from resting in and celebrating the righteousness that is yours by grace through faith.
Pastors are now having to face the reality that some people may not be coming back to church. People they knew. People they loved. People they thought were with them.
And that’s really hard.
Pray for pastors as you think of them in these coming months.
Faith is not about trying harder, it’s about admitting weakness, confessing sin, resting in forgiveness and trusting empowering grace to enable you to resist temptation and follow your Lord more closely.
75 years ago TODAY, Dietrich Bonhoeffer went to the gallows knowing he would soon step into the arms of the God Who died for Him and Who rose again to glory. Bonhoeffer's last recorded words were, "This is the end, but for me the beginning of life." Amen. https://t.co/CZ5Wwpxw67
During this quarantine I’ve learned that my 4 favorite activities are, not in order: 1. Going to restaurants. 2. Actually being at church 3. Touching my face. 4. Any non-essential activity
By the way, Carhart fully acknowledges that he kills babies. None of the “clump of cells” obfuscation from this guy. He knows what he does and what he is.

"You can shut him up for a fool, you can spit at him and kill him as a demon; or you can fall at his feet and call him Lord and God. But let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about his being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to."
