@jeffgilchrist@Mlehman99@CMOH_Alberta@Albertadoctors@MarjoriePLC@ABDanielleSmith@shoffmanAB Also important to note that long bar for under 1 year olds only represents one year - any other age group is multiple years and over 10 is a group of 10 years. The rising bars with increasing age is misleading because they represent 10 years not 1 and are not directly comparable.
@drglennsullivan I still pay for the same office I had pre 2020, do not deduct expenses for my home office, and can provide services for those in remote areas or canโt otherwise travel into the city. 100% virtual.
@JonathanShedler Thanks for sharing this! Great thing is many people are realizing and appreciate the difference when they pursue psychotherapy from appropriately trained practitioners after experiencing those only offering support or basic manualized treatment.
As a clinical psychologist, Iโve worked in a hospital setting for over a decade helping people who experience severe depression.
They didnโt choose it.
This is why mental health literacy matters.
โ Been saying this for years. People think that the medical community is trying to suppress magical science that no one has access to, to purposefully keep you sick. This is absurd and nonsense. Too many bizarre conspiracy theories. The wellness industry takes advantage of your lack of understanding and sells you nonsense like supplements, blue blockers, red lights, cold plunges, and other lunacy. The anti medicine stance is also ludicrous. Modern medicine and therapeutics has added decades to people's lives.
@WAVEJourney @ReallyMelissaR @kprather88 Is there a specific place you share your travel tips, thoughts about best locations, etc. for around the world? Looked at your website didnโt see that specific info. Excited about possibilities!
This is the issueโฆ healthcare administrators (who have never experienced a therapy relationship & literally donโt know what psychotherapy is) now routinely make decisions about how therapy must be done. The result is an abomination that is not psychotherapy but is called therapy

It's been ~5yrs since ๐๐๐ ๐-๐๐๐-๐, the virus that causes ๐๐๐๐๐, made its fateful jump into humans. Now seems as good a time as any to ask "is it over yet?" (For the 10th time, but who's counting?)
Let's talk about how this ends, shall we? (1/)
One thing that reliably separates truly skilled psychotherapists from mediocre ones is this:
Mediocre therapists focus on the problems the patient tells them about
Skilled psychotherapists focus on the problems the patient ๐ด๐ฉ๐ฐ๐ธ๐ด them๐
1 day weโll take alcohol more seriously.
Not 1 #nhl team that sent condolences mentioned this was alcohol related.
Alcohol companies are huge sponsors of sports teams but donโt want to mention it was alcohol related.
Hurts their sales.
Tragic ending.๐๐ผ https://t.co/I1CVBghKWp
@Featherprop@JonathanShedler With many hours of graduate coursework in specified areas, supervised practicum and internship experiences (minimum 2000 hours) within accredited programs, and ongoing professional development and consultation as long as you practise.
@bitesizetherapy Kernberg is brilliant! I have learned more about the conceptualization of personality disorders from him than anyone else. Reading and discussing his books with colleagues and hearing him speak at conferences over the years has been invaluable.
@Pednpsy13 @ShawnaGofABPoli This is the case for any health care worker as well. As a health psychologist, patients routinely report difficult interactions with HCW. When appropriate, I encourage them to consider this and it can make a huge difference.
