The best competitors don't rise to the occasion. They've already been there.
Cori Close calls it the LION mindset. 🔥
When everyone else tightens up, they lock in. When the moment gets big, they get bigger.

Nick Saban on why adversity isn't the obstacle - it's the requirement.
🎯Most people treat adversity like a detour. Something to avoid. Something to survive until conditions improve.
Saban sees it differently.
"Life is difficult. This camp will be difficult. But you have to overcome adversity if you're going to have a chance to be successful in your life."
Not might have to. Have to.
You're going to have to earn it. Listen to his next line.
"There can be no great victories in your life unless you can overcome adversity. You can't be a great competitor unless you can overcome adversity."
No great victories.
📌That's not a motivational line. That's a law.
And here's the part most people miss:
"That's mental. It has nothing to do with physical ability."
Physical ability is given. Mental toughness is built. And the only way to build it is to go through something hard - and choose not to quit.
The adversity isn't in the way. The adversity is the way.
You don't find out who you are when things are easy.
You find out when they're hard and you keep going anyway.
Great victories don't come without great resistance.
That's not a coincidence - it's by design.
This might be the best 3-minute explanation of throwing the football out there.
Tom Brady does not describe throwing as an arm action. He describes it as a full-body transfer of energy.
The throw starts in the ground. The feet create force. The stride organizes direction. The hips carry energy. The shoulders store and release torque. The arm stays relaxed enough to deliver the football instead of forcing the football.
If the quarterback strides with his head in front of his chest, power leaks. If the front shoulder flies open, direction leaks. If the lead arm pulls across the body, the vector changes and the ball starts to spray.
The mechanical standard is simple: Stride. Torque. Throw.
The best part of Brady’s explanation is the relationship between speed and relaxation. When most quarterbacks want to throw harder, they tense up their upper body. Brady says the opposite. Move faster into the target, but relax the arm even more.
That is high-level efficiency.
“It’s time to wake the fuck up”
Neil deGrasse Tyson: “Half of my fellow graduate students when I was getting my PhD were foreign nationals. Do you realize one third of all the Nobel Prizes in sciences won by Americans were won by immigrants to America? If you’re gonna trail the world in practically everything, including your economy, it’s time to wake the fuck up”
Coach K said, "When you're getting your butt kicked, it's called changing a limit."
"So many parents today don't allow their kids to change limits...They're worried about them failing instead of learning. You learn through the experience of failure and success."
Growth requires discomfort. You have to be willing to look bad before you get better.
The problem isn't failure - it's protecting people from it.
"Failure was never a destination."
Bow Down to Washington.
Bow Down to Washington!
Mighty are the ones who wear
The Purple and the Gold!
Joyfully we welcome them
Within the Victor's Fold.
We will carve our names,
In the Hall of Fame,
To preserve the memory of our devotion!
So, Heaven help the foes of Washington.
They're trembling at the feet of mighty Washington.
Our boys are there with bells,
Their fighting blood excels.
It's harder to push them over the line,
Than pass the Dardanelles.
Victory's the cry of Washington.
Our leather lungs together
With a RAH RAH RAH,
And o'er, the land, the Loyal Band,
Will sing the glory of Washington forever!
