Hi Aunty @funkeakindele abeg get out , you’re too fvcking good . You comot tears for hard guy face . How the F did you do that ? You’re way too gooood abeg! This behind the scenes movie is way up there.
I know we have a Big 3, but Olamide sits on the same level, or even higher than the hierarchy of Nigerian pop music.
As a creator, he's been a man for all seasons, over a decade of hits and deep cuts, albums that track all the eras of our cultural journey, songs that become Afrobeats folklore, and a lifetime of creating and seeding other creators.
I have watched him move from a shaggy upstart, to a pop star, superstar, and now a conduit of creative enterprise and success. He's led rap, led pop music, led pop culture, and now has a leading legacy, worthy of the highest levels of recognition.
He's both a working blueprint and an institution, one whose impact already traverses multiple generations of Nigerian music. And he isn't done yet.
Watching him last night on stage in London, I had tears in my eye. This is the apex of crafting. The zenith of showmanship, worthy of global emulation.
