They are right. And they are being brutally and refreshingly honest. You can cure a cold. You cannot cure anxiety, depression or any other related issues. The psychiatrists in that video were not admitting failure. They were admitting reality. Most people who talk down on therapy are expecting a doctor with an antibiotic. Someone who will diagnose, prescribe, and eliminate the problem. But that is not how anxiety works. That is not how most of the mind works.
Therapy is mostly about sitting with someone who can listen well and articulate things clearly for you. This helps you see your own thoughts, patterns, and emotions with a sharper and more organized picture than you could manage alone in your head. It is clarification, perspective, and gentle guidance through the fog. It is not a curative treatment that fixes you once and for all. The progress comes from you understanding yourself better and then acting on that clarity by getting moving, changing habits, and facing what you have been avoiding.
They help you see it clearly, name it, shape it, and hold it up to the light. Once you have that clear picture, you can decide what to do next. The therapist does not move your legs for you. They just help you see where you are standing.

To the Timberwolves Family:
Nine years ago, I arrived in Minnesota as a young man with a dream. Little did I know that this place would become my home, and its people would become my family. Your love, support, and unwavering loyalty have fueled my journey and inspired me to be the best player I could be.
Thank you to my teammates, coaches, and the entire Timberwolves organization for the countless opportunities and experiences. I'll cherish the friendships I've made and the battles we've fought together.
To the incredible fans, your support has meant the world to me. It gave me strength on and off the court. I'll never forget it.
You'll always hold a special place in my heart. Thank you for everything.
