I'm finally back with another video, this time looking at both the seminal 1995 classic Ghost in the Shell, and the much less impressive remake from 2017. RTs as appreciated as ever. https://t.co/eYPHDZQhip
@BadFilmTakes1 And I think that’s fair, I guess my expectations are so low I don’t really even get disappointed by that, it’s just expected at this point.
@BadFilmTakes1 Yeah, and I’m not saying she should be Leftist of the Year or anything, but all the comments calling her a reactionary or a CIA fangirl feels kinda weird and unfair. There’s plenty to criticize but also so much worse out there as well imo.
@BadFilmTakes1 It has admittedly been A WHILE since I watched the film, but at the time the whole “ZDT is pro-torture” thing was kinda crazy to me. At worst I remember it being a middle of the road “was this all worth it?” kind of thing. Maybe I’d feel different now.
@BadFilmTakes1 I'm apparently out of the loop, is everyone call her a CIA operative because of her new movie? (I haven't seen it or new it existed until just now)
@BadFilmTakes1 The standard should be you can make them whatever size/color with or without a border or background to make it more readable for each individual. And not being able to on a streaming service is unacceptable
@Koutchboom@BadFilmTakes1 Starting to use Plex a few years ago is specifically what made me not able to put up with bad subtitles. Single-handedly killed my interest in Criterion discs.
@BadFilmTakes1 Dude, I could write a whole Ted talk about this shit. In the last couple of years, it has really turned me off of physical media in a way I didn't think was possible. Criterion is especially bad, I can physically feel myself needing to scoot closer to read the subs.
