A hearty thank you to defensive coordinator Jacob Pardonnet '18 for four incredible seasons with us. We wish JP and his wife, Angela, the best as he embarks on a new coaching opportunity at the NCAA Division II level. #d3fb

Let me be clear: the Alma/Hope call in OT was not a "judgment call" necessitating review of all other judgment calls in that game. That was a misapplication of the rule of a catch vs. a bat. The wing official had a clear view and punched back to indicate a lateral -- which only occurs if the ball is caught in the first place.
However, those who question the holding call against Alma at the end of regulation should know that the call appears justified and correct, even for a "judgment call." The video below focuses in on what the Back Judge saw, which was a grab and tug, creating the ability to prevent separation by the WR. In fact, this call could have easily converted into DPI because of its proximity to where the ball was thrown and the timing of the throw. However, instead of placing the ball on the 2, it was half the distance.
The Back Judge's flag was pulled and thrown before the end of the play and bounces into the picture as the players come down in the endzone. @D3FBHuddle #d3fb
Agreed with the broadcast. The game should be over. It's clearly a catch and an intentional lateral, and therefore a fumble, not an incomplete pass. Hope should have had this win in the books. #d3fb
@JHornMIAA you need to make an official statement and suspend the pathetic referees at today’s Hope/Alma game. What a disgraceful end of game referring. You all should be ashamed of yourself.
I don’t care what happens the rest of the way, this will go down as the worst and most costly call in college football this season.
@HopeCollegeFB got absolutely screwed in what became an OT loss to Alma. Feel sick for @PStuursm and his team. They deserved better.
