The Charlotte 49ers have a monster road game at Memphis Wednesday night at 8 (ESPN+).

A quick look at the matchup:

RECORDS: Charlotte (17-8, 11-2 AAC, 2nd in league); Memphis (18-8, 7-6, T-5th)

SCOUTING MEMPHIS: Back in mid-January, Memphis was 15-2 and ranked as high as No. 10 in the nation. Since then, Penny Hardaway's team is 3-6. Memphis was blown out 106-79 by SMU Sunday. SMU (19-7, 10-3 is still fighting for a league title).

Memphis star David Jones averages 22 points per game, good for No. 6 nationally. He's shooting a AAC-best 40 percent from 3... Memphis is 10-2 at home and trying to secure its six straight 20-win season and its third straight trip to the NCAA Tournament.

SCOUTING CHARLOTTE: The Niners have won 11 of their last 12 games and are just two league wins away from tying a 26-year-old program record for conference wins in a season.

Charlotte beat UTSA and Wichita State at home last week, not trailing in either game. Charlotte has trailed for just 29 seconds in its previous four home games.

Point guard Lu'Cye Patterson has scored in double figures in each of his past nine games. He had four 20-point performances in that run. He made the AAC Honor Roll on Monday after averaging 18 points on 55.6 percent shooting in two games last week.

QUICKLY
👉This is the first meeting between Charlotte and Memphis in 13 years and the 15th all time. The Niners are 6-8 all-time against the Tigers.
👉Charlotte is 14-1 in games where 6-10 post Dishon Jackson plays at least 25 minutes. When he doesn't, Charlotte is 2-7.
👉Memphis and Charlotte were both members of Conference USA from 1995-2005. Charlotte rejoined the league in 2013, but Memphis had moved up to the AAC.
👉Charlotte continues its road trip Saturday night at Tulsa. That game will tip off at 8 p.m on ESPNU. Charlotte beat Tulsa 84-76 at home Jan. 10.

The Charlotte 49ers will play one of their toughest games of the season Tuesday at South Florida. The game will be nationally televised on ESPN2 at 9 p.m.

It's the Niners' second straight game on national TV.

Charlotte (14-7, 8-1 AAC) has won eight straight. South Florida (15-5, 8-1) has won seven.

The winner takes sole possession of first place.

ON SOUTH FLORIDA
