Karen O wrote "Maps" inspired by her boyfriend of the time, Angus Andrew (Liars singer), with whom she lived a troubled and long-distance relationship - the two bands were always on tour.
The striking line "They don't love you like I love you" came from an email she sent him.
The video, directed by Patrick Daughters, is legendary: Karen O cries real tears at the end of the performance. Angus was late for hours on set and she was about to go on tour; when he showed up, the excitement really overflowed.
Released as the third single from Fever to Tell, it became the biggest Yeah Yeah Yeahs hit to date (#9 on Billboard's Alternative Songs). It is considered one of the best songs of the 2000s by Pitchfork (#6) and Rolling Stone (#7), and voted the best "alternative love song" of all time by NME on a dedicated list.
@_SByrne Looking forward to a new face in the building with fresh ideas..
Some trepidation for sure but this is where we are. Hopefully McNulty & Allen click & agree on transfer targets.
Onwards & upwards 🙌🏼
Angela Rayner - £40k underpaid stamp duty - repaid. Lost jobs in Cabinet and Dep. PM.
Peter Murrell - £400k theft from SNP - going to prison
Huge coverage of both
Nigel Farage - £5m undeclared bung (possibly more) - goes to ground for a month.
Media coverage? You judge.
@AGroundsss Very easy for fans to say ‘change needed’, ‘we can kick on now’ etc.. but this fella was a serial winner, a motivator so will be hugely missed and very difficult to replace.
Wilson and Chally gone - never a dull moment supporting County 🫠😂🥴
@AGroundsss Genuinely gutted as I, in addition to many others wanted him to take us to the Championship as per Stotts 7 yr plan.
Chally was versatile in his approach I thought. Even in huge adversity due to injuries, players leaving due to no contract agreements etc he done wonders..
💔 After an incredible five years, we are saddened to see Dave Challinor leave Stockport County.
We would like to thank Dave for everything he has achieved during his time at the club and wish him every success in the future.
🏆 Two league titles, 268 matches managed, 144 wins, 61 draws and 63 defeats, giving him an outstanding win rate of 53% - second only to Lincoln Hyde in the club's history.
More importantly, Dave leaves County supporters with countless unforgettable memories that will last a lifetime.
Thank you, Dave. 💙
Five seasons.
268 games. 144 wins.
Two league titles. Three play-off campaigns. One cup final.
One of the most successful eras in our modern history.
Thank you, Dave.
Dave Challinor has officially left #StockportCounty by mutual consent after five years at Edgeley Park.
Both parties wished to call it a day after "honest and fair conversations, recognising that this is the right moment to move in a different direction".
Challinor says it's been "an amazing five years that have gone beyond what I expected. To the supporters, your backing has been incredible and I hope we can all reflect positively on the experiences and emotions we've shared together."
County owner Mark Stott: "Since buying the club, there have been a few County legends mentioned to me, and in management there is obviously Jim Gannon and Danny Bergara. Dave Challinor definitely now joins that list."
The former club captain guided County to two league titles, back into the EFL at his first time of asking and into three play-off campaigns. Two Wembley play-off final appearances and an EFL Trophy final appearance, along with successive third place finishes in League One.
The Hatters have finished 1st, 4th, 1st, 3rd, 3rd in his four and a half seasons at the club. County were 9th in the National League when Challinor arrived, before he took the club to two ten-game winning runs in the same season, breaking his own club record at the time and securing the title.
The club say the search for a new manager has begun. Rochdale boss Jim McNulty has been strongly linked online, with a few other EFL names also mooted by different outlets.
@StockportCounty Genuinely gutted to learn this but we had the distinct feeling it was coming.
I was sceptical post Gannon but his class, honest comms & various styles soon won me over.
Stockport loves you more than you will know.. best of luck to Dave @ChallinorKate & family on his next role 💙
Stockport County Football Club can confirm that, following long and constructive discussions, we have mutually agreed to part ways with First-Team Manager Dave Challinor.

“To have the chance to walk towards the Cheadle End one last time to thank everybody who’s supported me over the years is something I’m really looking forward to”
All you need to know regarding Ben’s testimonial events 👇
Legendary goalkeeper Ben Hinchliffe will leave #StockportCounty this summer, after ten successful years at Edgeley Park.
One of County's greatest ever servants joined the club on a free transfer in 2016, keeping hold of the #1 shirt from the National League North through to third in League One. Hinchliffe departs with three league titles, five Golden Glove awards and 427 apps in a decade with The Hatters. An absolute legend in every sense.
A testimonial against Hinchliffe's hometown club Preston North End will take place at EP on Sat 1st August.
Owner Mark Stott: "It’s not just about his playing career. Ben is the most outstanding character I’ve met in my time at Edgeley Park, a brilliant human being who has represented this club with pride for ten years."
"I never get involved in contract negotiations, but I pushed to give Ben his last two-year deal, because of what he represents. He is what makes County so different and so special, and is the first name I think of when people ask me about players that I love."
It’s the end of an era at Edgeley Park, with County legend Ben Hinchliffe set to depart the club this summer after an incredible ten years of service.
427 appearances. 157 clean sheets. 3 promotions.
A true County great. What a journey 💙
