When I needed a hysterectomy due to severe endometriosis & adenomyosis, I was repeatedly denied
Told I “might want kids.”
Told I “might meet a man who wants kids”
I was left disabled & bed ridden, yet the system continued to try & save my diseased uterus against my will 🧵

taking children away from families that can’t afford to care for them…..placing them in foster homes that receive aid from the city to care for them…..instead of giving the said aid to the struggling family!!
I hate that they’re trying to force AI into everything possible it’s so fucking annoying. I don’t want AI on my phone. I don’t want AI in my home. I do not like AI summer spring and fall. I do not like AI at all.
You're holding an orange.
Now you want to peel it and lay the peel flat on the table — like a map. But when you try to press that round, bumpy peel down, it cracks, it stretches, it tears… because you just can't flatten a ball without messing it up.
That’s exactly what happens when we try to make a flat map of the round Earth.
Now, there was a smart guy named Gerardus Mercator who needed a map for sailing ships across the oceans, so in 1569 he came up with a clever trick. He made a map where straight lines look straight — perfect for navigation. But to do that, he had to stretch things more and more as you get closer to the North and South Poles.
So what does that do?
Greenland ends up looking as big as Africa, even though Africa is actually about 14 times bigger!
Antarctica looks like it could gobble up the whole world, but in real life, it’s big — just not that big.
Why does this happen?
Well, imagine you’re drawing the Earth on a cylinder wrapped around the globe, like a paper tube hugging the equator. As you project the land up onto the tube, stuff near the equator fits just fine. But near the poles? You’re stretching tiny bits of land over a huge space — and that’s where the distortion happens.
So Mercator’s map is like a super useful but funny-looking mirror. Great for sailors? Yes! Great for understanding the true size of countries? Not really.
Maps are like stories — they always leave something out. You just gotta know what.
Ok, question:
TERFs insist that banning trans women from women’s loos will stop predatory cis men coming in pretending to be trans women.
But-trans men now HAVE to use the women’s loos.
So how do we now stop those same predatory cis men coming in pretending to be trans men?
