All the debates, all the frustration, all the “this team can’t…” — it kind of just fades once the tournament starts.

Now it’s just ball.

For Kentucky, it really comes down to this:
You don’t have to be the best team in the country… you just have to play like it for a weekend.

We’ve seen flashes. We’ve also seen the inconsistency.

That’s why nobody really knows what this team is about to be.

And honestly, that’s what makes this fun.

Kentucky gets Missouri at 12:30 after grinding out the win over LSU yesterday.
Feels like a bit of a revenge spot too.

Kentucky had that game in hand in the regular season before letting it slip late.

March is about getting another shot at teams — and the Cats get one today.

Honestly not where Kentucky expected to be — opening the week against LSU instead of playing later in the tournament.

But March has a way of resetting things fast.

When Aberdeen, Oweh, and Chandler are playing aggressive and the defense shows up, this team has looked like a completely different group.

The reality is Kentucky probably sits somewhere in the middle right now — some real problems, but also some real wins.

Fair point — none of us here work for JMI or the athletic department.

All we can do is go off what’s publicly known.

JMI handles the media rights and sponsorship side. Buzz’s role was tied to the media side. If new reporting shows something different, I’m open to seeing it.

Until then a lot of this is speculation.

But if the role was tied to the media/broadcast side, that falls under the rights holder. Those positions change all the time across college athletics.

Buzz worked in that role for 37 years and is still working with WKYT.

Treating it like some kind of power grab or institutional crisis feels like a stretch.

My point was simply that they aren’t the ones making coaching hires or direct personnel decisions. Those still run through the athletic department.

If there’s reporting showing JMI controlling decisions beyond that, feel free to share it. You mentioned it only takes a few minutes to find — I’d genuinely be interested in seeing it.

Both Arkansas and Kentucky rebuilt large parts of their rosters and are still early in new eras.

Declaring a winner this quickly just feels like forcing a take.
