When do we acknowledge this a college football issue and not Ole Miss or Lane Kiffin (other programs currently and in the past as well)? The dates of college football have caused this - transfer portal, conference champs games, playoffs, portal, etc, and more importantly the season isn’t even over.

Can you blame Lane for wanting to go to LSU? No, that’s his decision and he may think that is best. Can you blame Lane for wanting to finish what he started on this historical season at Ole Miss with guys he recruited? Absolutely not. Can you blame Ole Miss for wanting an answer asap for the future of the program? No, absolutely not.

He can’t be a coach at both though. That is an awful decision.

Solution - Change the dates to fix this. Players can’t transfer during the season and neither should coaches. The coaches decisions impact the players.

Programs shouldn’t be able to fire coaches mid season based on wins and losses. Finish the whole season. In this case, LSU’s problem of Brian Kelly shouldn’t become Ole Miss’ problem during the season. The whole college football season.

After the national championship, the season is at end. Set the dates of firing coaches, portal, signings, etc based off this. You’re hurting the teams who have earned to enjoy the post season, by letting teams who have not “move forward” sooner (example - Kiffin as OC at Bama when fired by Saban for taking a HC job at FAU or the current situation of today).

The system is broke and needs to be fixed. Dates being adjusted for teams, programs, coaches, etc to enjoy the whole season is a stated.
