I would like to personally thank @adriandix for supporting national physician licensing.
Within 24 hr I was contacted by a Canadian MD I keen on working in underserved rural BC towns.
Locum (ie substitute doctor) access is a critical issue for rural BC

Hey family docs/FPs in training: 🤨
Care about @CFPC_e transparency, ^fees, for/against the added 3rd year of FP training?

As a recently graduated family doctor (2020) I wish to say in no uncertain terms that the @CFPC_e's plan to lengthen training by a year will worsen the exodus of people from family medicine, as so many have been saying

@zoeblofeld Very tough to get in without completing specialty training, sadly. Without it, you first need to get permanent residency and then apply to specialty training as an IMG which, outside of GP, is almost impossibly competitive
Animals may be able to detect natural disasters before they happen, but humans not so much. Thankfully, the National Earthquake Early Warning System is coming to parts of B.C.

@Vanessa58386340@Docs4BC@BC_GP_Shortage@adriandix I’m one of those docs! I would LOVE to do the NTP contract as I’m planning to start a new panel, but the uncertainty around it is extremely frustrating
@StewartCattroll @SarahGiles10 @CFPC_e Yeah the bottleneck/competition for Canadian doctors trying to come back is wild. Huge numbers won’t have matched this year, whilst we have all these spots unfilled
@Addleben@davidcarr333 @SarahGiles10 @CFPC_e Totally. There need to be more slots, especially that allow people to train at smaller sites/in rural areas. I shouldn’t have to relocate to Vancouver for a year to up-skill!
We did it!! Free universal prescription contraception was included in the 2023 BC Provincial Budget and will be available for all British Columbians starting April 1st!! 🥳🎉🎈

Yesterday I had to phone SIX pharmacies to find one with Amoxicillin in stock to treat a child with pneumonia. In Vancouver. The system is falling apart and it is going to cost children their lives
