@WeirdMedieval Went all the time as a kid, and I recently celebrated my birthday there. It was great. The biggest change I noticed is now a lot of the crowd dresses up, so it's like a mini Ren faire, but nicely air conditioned. Black and white knight is the best.
@hankgreen Keep in mind soccer has limited substitutions, whereas hockey has constant changes on the fly. That causes the pace of soccer to slow down for recovery, whereas hockey tends to be frantic speed due to the fresh legs. The size of the pitch also lends itself to more possession.
@Izengabe_@sam_alberti There's a little more to it. The exempt status was meant to last 10 years, but when the city drafted the exemption they inadvertently only put in a minimum of 10 years. MSG lawyers caught that no end date was written, and held them to it indefinitely.
@NYCSanitation They're sold out all over the place. I went to 4 different locations, and even though the workers checked the inventory of nearby stores, when I went there they were out of stock too.
@jonmorosi@NCAA Arguing against it because it hurts the current business and competition model is probably not gonna float. You could literally say the same thing about football or basketball.
@mattyglesias Driving from northern New York by the 1000 islands into Canada is similar. You go from being in a sparsely populated farm area on a small interstate highway in NY to one of the busiest highways in Canada.
@ClankoMedia I figured if anyone knows this it would be you. There are 3 girls at nationals on the CT Polar Bears 19U who also play prep for the Hill School. How do they get between Pottstown, PA and Shelton, CT for practice before the split? Helicopter charter? No practice?
@ihatedeadends@NYC_DOT The parkway name comes from the 1800s for scenic roads that were designed to be like parks. It's a historical term predating the current usage as a controlled access highway.
