Your CI/CD pipeline should start on the developer's laptop. If it only starts after a git push, you're slowing your team down and throwing money down the drain.
CI/CD "shift left" is the lowest-hanging fruit for engineering efficiency in teams of 20+ engineers IMO.
@ContinoHQ brought @kelseyhightower to discuss what he's been working on, how we can drive engineering solutions with empathy for our customers, and being pragmatic when solving solutions for them.
Thanks @ContinoHQ for connecting us with @kelseyhightower and letting us geek out on all things Google and k8s. I loved all the CloudRun insights the most. #developerexperince
@towernter there's a saying: every linux user uses two distros:
1. the distro that is objectively the best
2. Ubuntu when they actually need to get some work done
One controversial thing we’ve done is built a 9-person engineering team called ‘substrate’ that just focuses on automation and internal developer experience. It is a huge investment but it pays dividends.
I wrote out some thoughts on how to make this moment a real turning point to bring about real change––and pulled together some resources to help young activists sustain the momentum by channeling their energy into concrete action. https://t.co/jEczrOeFdv
We cannot allow those who have taken advantage of this moment to loot and smash to also steal the voices of those expressing a need for real, meaningful change.
That will not be our story here in Illinois.
