This week’s #ManningAward Quarterback of the Week goes to 🥁
🏅 Devon Dampier, Utah
📊18-of-33, 353 total yards, 4 TDs, QBR: 90.0
Dampier threw for 2 TDs & ran for 2 TDs to lead the Utes back from a 12-point, 4th quarter deficit to a 51-47 victory over K-State!
Not sure who needs to hear this, but if Provo or TTU make the CFP, they’re getting the G5/Lincoln Riley treatment in Round 1.
Even with 2 losses, Utah, Notre Dame, OU, and Texas would hold up WAY better under those lights
Don’t @ us 🤷♂️
Utah didn’t lose that game because of the refs..
Utah didn’t lose that game because of play calling.
Yall had 466 total yards and 226 Rushing Yards
Walking away with a 0 points on 3 Redzone tries is why you lost.. KIck a damn field goal…
That muffed punt was also BRUTAL…
Last night, Utah:
-> Out-Rushed the opponent
-> Out-Passed the opponent
-> Gained 100+ more total yards
-> Had more first downs
…and still lost.
The last time that happened? 2005 vs. San Diego State.
This is called shooting yourself in the foot.
Too aggressive on 4th Down.
Too cute on offense.
Too undisciplined.
Too many penalties.
Too many missed tackles.
Too many self-inflicted wounds.
Too many unanswered questions - still. 🤔
Utah’s biggest opponent tonight was Utah. 🤷♂️🤦♂️
Halftime thoughts...
- Muffed punt was a killer. Gave away an opportunity to take momentum into locker room and start with the ball this half.
- Utah should run the ball more inside, it's too outside oriented. Let the OL get vertical push.
- Larry Simmons needs more run. Wayshawn needs more run.
- The early empty possessions continue the conversation of taking points vs going for it. Utah should've kicked the field goal on the first drive. Can't let an 80-yard drive like that go to waste that early in the game. "FINISH DRIVES"
