since the flowers' dreams section in deltarune made me think about why each of them fell down in undertale, so i'm gonna take a shot at guessing what led each of them to fall down mt. ebott

i headcanon the reason seth is so enamored with berdly is because berdly did a project on flowers at some point and asgore let him study the purple flower. and they’re named seth cuz berdly called them seth. which means BERDLY MAINS SETH ON STREET FIGHTER
YELLOW
due to yellow's gear being found in the waterfall dump, it could be extrapolated that blue and yellow fell into the underground together, or at least that blue fell first by accident, and yellow quickly followed suit to save his boyfriend like a true cowboy

GREEN
i'm split on whether they jumped into ebott by accident or by choice
they might've been collecting plants and herbs and the like for cooking, then slipped on a vine and fell down
BUT they might've also been as curious as seth, wanting to see if ebott holds new ingredients
I gotta be real man this scene made me tear up
This is the coolest thing I’ve seen Toby do with the fallen humans and their traits and it just stings a bit to say goodbye to one of UTs most mysterious concepts like this
while i do want to believe in rudy knight, i'll admit that the more i think about it, it'd be cool if the knight just wasn't a lightner at all
seam said that the shadow crystals are like lost dreams, what if that's just what the knight is made of? a darkner born of lost dreams
undertale takes if it released in chapters:
dude why haven't we found out anything about the king's son or the previous fallen humans yet. We're already in hotland. There's no way toby fox sticks the landing here
"how is he going to wrap up gaster and friend in these last two chapters!"
TOBY FOX TOLD THE STORY OF UNDERTALE IN UNDER 8 HOURS IN SPAGHETTI CODE!!!! WITH A DREAM!!!!
