Great CIO insight this week:
“The best hires used to be business people who understood tech.
Now they’re technologists who get business.”
That’s the flip.
We run on EOS (Accountability Chart, GWC, L10s). It works.
But here’s what’s next:
Old org chart was for reporting
Accountability chart shows who owns what
Next chart shows what agents do with humans as conductors
Agents execute.
Humans judge.
Direction. Judgment. Relationships. Risk. That’s the job now. We already have a couple people quietly 5x’ing themselves this way.
We need more.
We’re hiring for conductors.
Not “AI users.” People who GWC this world.
Friday night, wrapping up an incredible week, and I keep circling back to a job that doesn’t exist yet. Every small and mid-sized business should be hiring it right now.
Call it Chief Systems Officer. Call it Head of Operating Leverage. I don't know - Chief of Agentic AI? Just don’t bury it.
One person whose job is to look across the entire company and rebuild how work gets done using AI agents. This is a seat at the strategy table. Plan it first so you aren't working on small stuff, dumb stuff - attack the big stuff first. Planning is key.
Agentic AI isn’t a tool. It’s a re-org. The companies getting it right already found their eagle. You know the person. Running circles around everyone. Testing things on nights and weekends.
Paying attention to what OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google DeepMind are releasing.
They see things like “routines” in Claude Code and realize work can just run on its own. Then they pair it with Obsidian and build a simple second brain for the business. Not hype. Just all your knowledge in one place and actually usable.
What does that look like?
• A daily one-page brief on what changed
• Every lead followed up automatically
• Ops and maintenance routed without friction
• Decisions logged so you actually learn over time
That’s operating leverage.
Meanwhile most SMBs are still debating whether ChatGPT or Google Gemini writes better marketing copy.
That gap is the opportunity.
At Foxhole Equity we run a pallet company, an aerospace and MRO platform adding several companies a year, and a booming, workforce housing firm. And a lot of real estate.
Nothing sexy.
But scheduling, invoicing, follow-up, tenant workflows. Agents handle that all day.
If it works there, it works at your place.
Find the eagle. Back them.
Eagles don’t flock. You have to find them one at a time. Contact me if you are this person.
What would you call this role inside your company?
Tehran today
A sea of people in the streets.
The patience of the Iranian people is over. Khamenei and his allies must leave Iran as soon as possible.
#Iran
We are at the finish line of getting deminimus bitcoin transactions (<$600) cap gains free AND ending double taxation on mining/staking in the Big Beautiful Bill.
This might be our only shot at this for a while, today/tomorrow call or email your senator and make sure they know how much you SUPPORT this. If you are a major donor, reach out to your point of contact and let them know. It is so so so close, just need one extra push.
