I woke up to find that 3D Printing Nerd just surpassed 700,000 subscribers. I know subscribers don’t matter as much as they used to, and could be considered a vanity number - BUT, seeing this was still quite emotional. Thank you all! ❤️
@CanuckCreator@donttrythis@testedcom Just watched too. As a photographer that still uses film it made me super happy to see it. It was nice to see whites that weren't completely blown out.
First print with the new filament is a continuing prototype of a new LED diffuser! I may not need LED’s after all, it’s so bright! This is some epic filament!
Works perfectly with the blue and purple spotlights in my studio.
More project details soon! @Polymaker_3D
@elianarose66 Super jelly! I have need to add to my vintage Mac collection (that I no place to display ATM). Have you checked with @drandolph or @wjsteele? They’d be excellent resources for vintage computing hardware.
Hey there @ff3dprinters I'm really disappointed by the so called updates that are kind of being forced on us. Not only are you now using Bambulab's fork of Prusa/Orca Slicer (and kept in some of the nasty network bits... I bet you didn't even notice), but that slicer change is not ready for release. It's got more bugs than a fly strip over a garbage can. I'll highlight two of the worst offenders:
1. MacOS dark mode causes all sorts of problems, not the least of which is not seeing values in ANY of the fields when viewing slicing parameters. If you click into a field and highlight the text you can see it, but otherwise no. Also text is invisible in several of the modals and message boxes. Dark mode's been with us for a while now, there's no reason for this to be occuring.
2. When slicing models for multicolor there is a massive glitch that is carrying over painted-in color into unrelated layers. I've tried multiple orientations, different coloring methods, etc., but the problem persists. See the two images for examples of what I should see (From FlashForge Orca Slicer) and what's happening with Flash Studio.
Up until now, I've been pretty happy with the machine. This latest BS is making me question whether I'd ever consider another @ff3dprinters machine again.
@josefprusa So it's looking like FlashStudio is a re-skin of BambuStudio, not the Orca-Flashforge they were using. FlashForge didn't even bother to remove the Bambu connectivity in the app.

Confused by the latest 3D printing legislation? This is the premier video breaking down the FACTS clearly and objectively, without the fearmongering. Hear directly from someone (@David_Tobin) actively involved on the front lines advocating for the 3D printing community, along with practical information on how you can help support the effort. @3D_Musketeers https://t.co/LlZbZnDgFk
There are distinct differences. Technically yes, the case could be made that nozzle swapping is "tool changing", but it's not the equivalent of a true tool changer. True tool changers have a single filament path for each tool, unlike the BambuLab Vortec solution. With Vortec you still have to deal with filament retraction and purge. True tool changers really only need to prime the nozzle at each change. INDX, which seems to have many clones coming, is mostly a true tool changer, but keeps the inductive heater, electronics and extrusion system on the head and the "tools" have the hot and cold end, its own filament feed, and nozzle.
The industry doesn't really have a "head changer" category that's distinctly different. With 3D printing, there's definitely a distinction made between the two.
