Millennials at 35 years old who have been through 9/11, the Dot Com Crash, war in the Middle East, the Great Recession, COVID, Russia-Ukraine war all while living on a fiat currency with diminishing purchasing power.
Bitcoin is never going away
Once something is discovered, it cannot be undiscovered
Now you have 3 choices:
1) Learn about Bitcoin and develop an understanding of how it can benefit you and humanity in general
2) Ignore Bitcoin and try to avoid everything that has to do with it
3) Assume that Bitcoin won't work and bash the technology
IMO
- 5% of people choose #1
- 85% choose #2
- 10% choose #3
What a way to round out the year yesterday - a huge thanks to all the Auckland Bitcoiners building this great community!
And a big thanks to @lightningpaynz and our hosts at Andrew Andrew for keeping us frosty on yet another beautiful sunny NZ summer arvo! 🍻

Unpopular opinion:
Bitcoin doesn’t kill your ego, it transforms it.
People say “Bitcoin humbles you.”
No.
Fiat humiliated you.
Debt humbled you.
Inflation slapped you in the face for years.
Bitcoin doesn’t destroy your ego,
it rebuilds it.
When you finally understand it, your ego goes through a metamorphosis:
From fragile → to disciplined
From insecure → to sovereign
From chasing status → to chasing truth
From thinking short-term → to thinking in decades
From being owned → to becoming unownable
You don’t lose your ego.
You shed the fiat version of it.
Bitcoin upgrades you.
Whether you’re ready for that or not.
It’s wild that it’s become normal to leave your kids at daycare five days a week, eight hours a day, just so you can go to a job that mainly pays for daycare, the car to get there, and a house you’re rarely home to enjoy. We’re stuck in a cycle of working just to afford a life we barely get to live.
Elon Musk explaining inflation is absolutely brutal:
Print money → devalue the money → destroy the country.
Inflation isn’t an accident. It’s a policy choice.
