Yesterday’s stabbings at a gender studies class at the University of Waterloo are horrifying and unacceptable. This type of violence must always be condemned. Our thoughts are with the professor and two students who were injured.
My wonderful colleague, Janet Werker, is hiring a postdoc. Please consider applying and joining her and the Early Developmental Research Group at @UBCPsych. https://t.co/HBdyLPjKKr
Wow the comments section is wild. Praying these are trolls and not my colleagues.
Importantly I want to know what the next steps are to ensure something like this doesn’t happen again. APS can try and pin it on a “bad seed” but this is a much larger issue.
Today, December 6, 2022, at 9:35 a.m. ET (2:35 p.m. UTC), at the request of the APS Board of Directors, Klaus Fiedler, Editor-in-Chief of Perspectives on Psychological Science, submitted his resignation, which has been accepted.

As the editor of #AMPPS, I have written directly to @PsychScience leadership asking for the society to request Dr. Fiedler's immediate resignation. This editorial behavior is unacceptable. Elevating reviews to commentaries without additional peer review?/
APS has posted the following statement: https://t.co/I42CvbPfQm
I think it is incumbent on all psychology researchers to hold @PsychScience accountable. Can't help wonder why it took a public shaming to investigate their practices?
Catching up on everything and I have to say I am completely disgusted by what Steven went through at Perspectives on Psychological Science.
Please read his paper here: https://t.co/TxTrThV6Bf
THIS paper. Please read it, and please share it. It boggles the mind that @PsychScience would allow something like this to happen.

@DeonTBenton All my folders are named by project which is usually some random stimulus name or inside joke (I once had a folder called Award Winning Study that in fact won no awards and was never published). Then once I submit there is a subfolder named after the journal.
I am very happy that the second part of my PhD thesis got published in Infancy! If you are interested in phoneme acquisition please take a look at our paper https://t.co/2GBQMe8qCc.
@andrewshtulman I recommend watching without audio and pretending its charades for maximum entertainment. I'm pretty sure its the pottery scene from Ghost, but it could be a fire hydrant undergoing maintenance.
