@rossmacleodputt Maybe they can have their amateur status back, but they’d no longer be able to compete in regional or national events. We are already at a stage now where high level amateurs are pretty much full time golfers, the term amateur is becoming a bit loose.

Pre 1957, PGA was regarded as the hardest major to win because of the matchplay format, now its struggles to find a place with mediocre venues and format
