Last year as a locum doctor I sacrificed paid working days in order to attend meetings and ward walks, and was happy to do this for the good of the profession and my own future. I claimed only the direct expenses needed to get to meetings and get resources for campaigns

Extremely worried about this...⏬️
Illegal prescribing and diagnoses being missed.
@TheBMA asking House of Lords to kick legislation back as doctors now being replaced by Physician Associates, despite PAs only completing a two-year postgraduate course.
Physician Associates now assessing final year medical students.
Is this a sign of declining educational standards in medicine?
What impact will it have on the quality of doctors we produce?
In my personal capacity I would encourage consultants to vote no.
All doctors’ futures are in consultant hands.
Do not green light government interference.
Do not leave the profession in a worse state than you found it in.
👏@talthegooner
Ridiculous waits in ambulances, on trolleys, on corridors. For GP appointments, to see a consultant. 500 excess deaths in A+E a week due to underfunding and understaffing @RCollEM
We need more doctors.
We need a fair pay deal to keep the ones we already have.
A record breaking mandate in Feb.
7000 more yes votes in Aug.
Doctors have given us an overwhelmingly mandate.
With over 7m on NHS waiting list, the health secretary should be asking if she is representing the best interests of the public.
@VictoriaAtkins @BMA_JuniorDocs
This is a complete failure of the system.
A PA earning twice as much as a doctor is a real kick in teeth when we're already in the mud.
That too on a strike date.
The NHS does not value you doctors.
Let's see..
PAs can't prescribe,
PAs can't request scans,
PAs can't make any autonomous decisions.
PAs carry 0 liability.
Yep. Gets paid double.
