Raila Odinga, at a dinner hosted in honour last evening, dismissed grapevine hypotheses attributing his AUC Chairmanship loss to a raft of hollow theories, including but not limited to; his age factor, insufficient financial investment in the shuttle diplomacy, and President Ruto's political motive.
While assuring the delegates present that the AUC Chairmanship race was his personal decision devoid of coercion from any political quarter, he thanked President William Ruto for his indefatigable personal sacrifice, unfaltering logistical support, and unfettered access to all diplomatic missions across African capitals.
As a way forward from the events on Saturday, Rt. Hon. Raila Odinga encouraged Kenyans to dust themselves up from mourning his loss and put their foot forward towards focusing on nation-building, reiterating that this is not the time for lamentations, blames games and name calling.
Win or lose, the campaign secretariat has no regrets; the candidate is walking with his head tall, as there will be another opportunity for him to serve, and he will always be ready when duty calls.
