@ihaveabug@ihaveabug And because there are no real consequences for repeat offenders who cheat. They grow up with a focus on ways to cheat/trick. And so we re-produce generations of miscreants and cheaters who invest their time, money and knowledge in excelling at thwarting rules & systems
@MarcusLuther6 @MarchusLuther6 May I suggest: recap the previous lesson at the start of the current lesson. End the current lesson by saying what is coming up next week. Teach the day's lesson. Absentees catch up by taking the initiative to seek you out by appt - @ lunch; b/4 or after school.
@tipsy_bellows@teachbk @Eduventuring04 @tipsy_bellows Please puhleeze continue to do what is best for your students -- ALL your students. If you do that which is right, you will be able to defend yourself and, if it come to it, [some of] the parents of your students will defend you as well. BRING ON the SHIT! RAIN!
@teachbk @adrean_roberts @teachbk Who are the "they"? Why can't teachers break down the word problems so that children are scaffolded into developing the skills needed to learn how to access/respond to word problems? Why can't they make the word problems easy and first then progressively hard over time?
@NiaEducational@teachbk@niaEducational I agree with you. Such nonsense by the more powerful teachers who are in authority over the kids, who are stewards of the student's learning, who are co-conspirators with parents who are engaged! Such power wasted, year after year when [certain] students fail Math
@teachbk But, why though? Why do they (some or all teachers) knowingly follow the infallible script and be a part of the problem that contributes to "under-teaching" and learning issues? Why do they use these programs? Why can't they rely on their own "knowings"?

@utpjournals@ZoryanInstitute@DrKarnadJani@ONABSE@ClaudetteR76 There are so many facets to mothering and motherwork. Add to the conversation considerations of diasporic mothering, the effects of immigration, edu speak acquisition, racialization, disability, and...and...and...

@eduwonkette_jen @sarahlouwou Love it. Rhyme (rap) is one innovative way to make learning fun since it helps with memorization. So the rap may be culturally responsive to the students' culture and ethnicity. Students will connect and engage more. Culturally responsive teaching is a real ideal. Innovate. 👏🙏🏿
@sarahlouwou Why can't we look at the rap as one innovative way to make learning fun since it helps with memorization. Life is never all or nothing. So the rap can be culturally responsive to the students' culture and ethnicity. Plus, culturally responsive teaching is a real ideal. Innovate.
@DrKarnadJani@ontariotech_u If family members walk into your post-secondary classroom, please ask them to pay tuition! We don't have time for helicopter parents. The blessing will be the students, the aggravation will be the parents of adults who feel the need to speak on behalf of their adult kids!
@callmemrmorris@callmemrmorris White people are not usually associated with immigration-- unless they are Eastern Europeans and non-English speaking. Immigrants from Western Europe, especially English speakers, do not face the same racism as Black ppl do. Systemic Racism: Whiteness! History.
@callmemrmorris Not sure I understand. When I connect with doctors and lawyers or any regulated professional, I don't wish to know their personal life. What about teachers' personal lives should be of interest to others... and why? I don't want uninvited professionals up in my personal life!
