Some quick takes:
* Obviously this is happening on election day because the Biden admin is too distracted to try to stop it
* Gallant was the main channel between the White House and the Netanyahu government since Gantz resigned, in light of the total distrust between Biden and Netanyahu. There needs to be a decent channel between now and Jan 20 (and beyond if Harris wins). Dermer might be the best they have, even though the Biden admin sees him as a Republican
* Katz did not distinguish himself as foreign minister, standing out mostly for his judicious use of AI-generated images to mock foreign leaders on twitter. He will probably be a Netanyahu yes-man as defense minister - even though he does have a Likud power base and some leverage on Netanayhu, he uses it mostly to get better jobs for himself.
* With the war seemingly winding down and his coalition in turmoil over Haredi enlistment-related bills, Netanyahu needed a reason for Sa'ar to stay in the coalition. The foreign ministry is that reason. Elkin expected to be a minister too.
