Sonam Wangchuk's Fast Reaches 19th Day – His Health is Getting Weak
Hello friends,
Sonam Wangchuk is a teacher who loves Ladakh. He started a hunger strike on 28th June at Jantar Mantar in Delhi with young students.
He is asking two big things:
- The Education Minister should resign because of the NEET exam paper leak problem.
- Give special Sixth Schedule protection to Ladakh, which people have been waiting for since 2019.
Now on the 19th day, doctors say his health is not good. His blood pressure is low (105/61) and blood sugar is only 80. They are worried his body parts may get damaged if he continues.
But Sonam sir says he will not eat until the government sits and talks with him.
The Delhi High Court has said the government must check on him every day. Many people like Dhruv Rathee and Vishal Dadlani are supporting him. Some others are asking questions about his past.
Let us pray for his health and for good solutions soon. 🇮🇳

What kind of 'terrorist' fasts for 16 days to attract govt's attention?
What kind of 'anti-national' puts his life at risk to make education minister accountable?
It's shocking to see that this govt isn't even responding to Sonam Wangchuk's near-death situation. #SonamWangchuk
Millions of Indians celebrated 3 Idiots.
They laughed with Phunsukh Wangdu, admired his courage, and embraced the film’s message of questioning the system instead of blindly accepting it.
That iconic character was inspired by Sonam Wangchuk.
Today, Wangchuk is on a prolonged hunger strike at Jantar Mantar, demanding accountability over education-related issues, including the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
At least one member of the 3 Idiots cast has publicly voiced support.
That naturally raises a question many people are asking:
Will Aamir Khan, who immortalized a character inspired by Sonam Wangchuk, also share his perspective?
No one is obligated to speak. Silence is a personal choice.
But when a film draws its emotional power from a real person’s ideals and journey, people often wonder whether those who helped tell that story will stand with the person behind it when it matters most.
