Self-discipline keeps you doing your job. Without it you lose your pride and forget the importance of self-respect in the eyes of your fellow men. — Dick Winters

Hill sprints are starting to look like hill SPRINTS again! So grateful I GET to do this.
You can live life with a “get to” mentality or a “got to” mentality—the choice is yours every day. Since last summer, I’ve gained so much gratitude for the things I GET to do again. When everything is taken from you and you can’t do anything under your own power, you realize just how much you took for granted.
For me: coaching practice, playing in the yard with my kids, watching them compete in sports—even doing hill sprints.
It wasn’t that long ago that I wouldn’t have been able to walk up that hill. Now, by the grace of God and the willpower to grind every day, I’m back to sprinting.
Stop taking things for granted and appreciate the things we GET to do.
Jocko Willink dropped one of the most powerful mindset shifts I’ve ever heard:
When someone attacks you and says “This is your fault” — even if it isn’t — take full ownership anyway.
Feel your ego flare up? Anger rising? That’s your red flag. Call it out, detach, and respond with:
“Yes, this is my fault. Here’s the mistake I made. Here’s exactly what I’m doing to fix it.”
Even when you’re not fully to blame.
Because the second you own it, you stop being the victim and start controlling the outcome. You win.
Lewis Howes was visibly mind-blown listening to it. I was too.
Extreme ownership isn’t just theory — it’s a weapon you can use in arguments, work, relationships, and life.
When was the last time you took full ownership in a tough situation even when it wasn’t entirely your fault — and what happened?
Using the sauna after aerobic exercise improves VO₂ max more than training alone.
People who performed 30 minutes of cycling and then sat in a sauna for ~15 minutes afterward saw greater gains in their VO₂ max after 8 weeks of training compared to those who did the workout without sauna.
There’s also emerging evidence for strength training, with studies showing greater increases in markers of anabolic signaling associated with muscle growth with post-exercise heat exposure.
The sauna has several health benefits. But it's also a powerful tool to amplify the body's adaptations to both endurance and strength training.

Joe Rogan: "Everybody that I know that pushes themselves very hard in the gym or running or whatever... they’re the most happy and the most relaxed, and they’re able to face adversity much easier than people that don’t take care of their body."
You need to look at yourself every day and say, "Did I truly live the way I should be living today?" And then those standards need to be clear and then you need to apply them to your life.
