I’ve been feeling like straight dog 💩 all week and somehow found a way to get it done. Thanks for the support. Now it’s time for recovery but I’ll be better come final x 🤞🏾#LaceMan
Casey Swiderski did not wrestle on Friday, so 4-Time State Champion out of Tuttle, and True Freshman, Beau Hickman got the call at 149. It was a great match as Hickman went toe to toe with Herman, who is the #23-ranked wrestler at 149.
Herman hit a nice shot early in the match to get the first takedown of both that match and the dual overall. Hickman got out pretty quickly, so the score was 3-1.
Herman hit another good shot, but Hickman somehow got out of it. It looked like he was going to be the one to get the points, but both wrestlers went off the mat, and neither could score for the remainder of the period, so 3-1 headed to the 2nd.
Hickman started in the top position in the 2nd period and rode Herman for the entire period for 1:44 riding time. So, an escape in 44 seconds or less would tie the match. Hickman got out fast, so riding time had the match tied, next takedown wins.
Herman hit a high crotch for a takedown to take a 6-2 lead, then went to work on the riding time, but Hickman got out in time to secure the riding time.
A stall call was called on Herman, so the score was 6-4, with 1 point of riding time coming for Hickman with 59 seconds left, both wrestlers on their feet.
Hickman shot a single, and it was a good move, but Herman blocked it, then he bled the clock. Hickman shot again, Herman countered, and that was it. 6-5, Herman won after the riding time was added, GREAT match. #gopokes #okstate

Silas Allred battled hard against #5 ranked Dylan Fishback today. Fishback took a long medical timeout, Allred stayed focused getting the win with an escape in overtime (2-1 dec.)

@TuffyTalkNow Six years at the top level will pay a toll on the mind and body. Athletes see these posts. Try to put yourself in the athlete's shoes before calling them out. There is still plenty of time until the NCAAs in March.
It’s kinda wild this went from being perceived as some optimistic fluke win for Nebraska’s season to now being a credit to BYU for only losing by 1 in PBA while having one of their best players not play the whole second half
