If Marmoush leaves this summer, I don't want us to spend £60-80M on another "backup" for Haaland.
The reality is that Haaland rarely misses games, which means any backup striker is likely to spend most weekends watching from the bench.
At some point we need to stop collecting talent for the sake of it. Someone like Semenyo can cover centrally when needed, and the money would be better spent strengthening other areas of the squad.
I'm not ready to watch another expensive player disappear behind Haaland for two years.
We already have Foden and Cherki.
So why are we being linked with Morgan Rogers?
The positions that need strengthening seem obvious to everyone, yet we keep getting linked to players in areas where we're already stacked.
Maybe Hugo Viana sees something I don't, but right now I'm struggling to understand the priority.
In addition to giving Rodri a new contract and making either him or Haaland the captain, I think these moves would make City a stronger team.

That would leave City with a younger squad, a healthier wage bill, greater financial flexibility and still one of the strongest starting XIs in Europe.
For me, that's the ideal balance between planning for the future and remaining competitive right now.
Maresca's Chelsea beat the very PSG side that everyone suddenly looks terrified of.
Now imagine what he can do with Haaland, Rodri, Gvardiol, Donnarumma, Khusanov, Cherki and the rest of this City squad.
If he translates his ideas successfully, Europe might be in trouble.
And that's the part that should worry everyone else.
