A new EV company, Bingo EV Kenya, will launch a Sh1.8 million electric car for taxi drivers in September.

Drivers can buy it outright or lease it with a Sh125,000 deposit and daily payments of about Sh1,800, with local assembly set to begin in 2027

California EV startup Bingo has entered Kenya with its E2 electric car, targeting ride-hailing and last-mile delivery operators with a battery-swapping model and range of up to 440km:

—The company plans Nairobi assembly from December 2026, targeting 1,500 sales in 2027 and 10,000 vehicles on Kenyan roads by end-2028.

—Bingo also plans to roll out battery-swapping stations, DC fast chargers and roadside battery support as it builds out its EV ecosystem in Kenya.
