@norchcity @naomicfisher I'm not sure where you get the idea that students want to comply? What they want is to play, to be free, to have autonomy, to follow their own hearts, not to do what authority figures tell them.

To all those arguing that micro-control at school prepares teenagers ‘for the real world’ - you’re wrong. In the real world people have to make decisions for themselves. Micro-controlling teenagers denies them the opportunity to learn self-control. Submitting to being controlled is not the same thing as learning self-control, no matter how many times high control environments claim that it is.

@PrimaryHT_Mum Put schools in charge of their own improvement (they could use software like mme moe) and Ofsted audits the schools’ process. Much much cheaper and more likely to result in authentic improvement!!
