@Switchblade97 It was a fine exhibition showing considering he's a 14 year old boy. Meltzer should have just left it at that. But Dave isn't a good communicator traffics in hyperbole for effect. And why is anyone grading the work of a 14 year old boy?
@Switchblade97 Anyone who watched ESPN over Super Bowl weekend experienced the onslaught of AEW Collision specific advertisements. I was in Vegas. Not Dynamite. Collision. That had to eat into that alleged 180 million figure for sure.
@Switchblade97 Can't say for sure this reply is what started this all... Dave's invested in the perception of a wrestling war on his own, but this person in his replies is one of the 'math geniuses' Dave refers to. Dave didn't respond to the og reply until after his Friday show with Garrett.

Let's go!
Democrats are already in tears! ๐คฃ๐ฅ
@Switchblade97 Dave doesn't think he carries bias, but he doesn't listen to himself talk. Bryan brought up the YouTube feed cutting off during the Dynamite overruns again last night. To listen to Dave's defense of Tony Khan shift and turn in real time is something else. Defends TK like no1 else
@MeltzerSaidWhat It's so interesting cuz it was barely a month ago when Dave was trying to make the argument that more people were watching Dynamite than Raw if you 'counted' the mysterious MAX numbers. He can't keep his own narratives straight. The point of this was to tell his voters to go CMLL
@Switchblade97 On Fri's show, Dave said he 'got' the Las Vegas' payment to WWE for Mania '26 - $6M - that morning. He leaves you to interpret its his reporting. No, it was revealed in a city council meeting Wed & reported in the LV Review Journal on Thu. He does stuff like this all the time now
@Switchblade97 The context of that clip - its from the Fri 10/24 Observer radio. Dave jokes with Garrett "should I take it, or no?" It's very likely Tony Khan had just gotten the Dynamite rating. 25 minutes later, Garrett reads the Wrestlenomics report to Dave.
@Switchblade97 Dave in WON today "There are those with numbers who felt it would end up similar to last month based on most of the streaming numbers coming in about the same." Then came a sentence that needed an editor re: Tony Khan touted All Out buys right away, and he hasn't said anything.
@JOtweats@MeltzerSaidWhat He picked that up years ago from the Jacksons and Omega in their feud with Cornette. They used that to deflect any criticism of their working style going way back. The mentality - if you don't appreciate/like what I'm doing, you're not being honest, or you're simply jealous, etc.
@Switchblade97 I've been reading Dave for 35 years. I dont recognize this Dave. He's way too emotionally invested in AEW. He's never treated a promoter with kid gloves the way he does Tony. He likes Tony, but obviously doesn't respect him. Treads lightly, when he does criticize booking, etc.
@johnathaniblake@MeltzerSaidWhat@prowrestletimes I'll also add that I've subscribed to the Observer since 1991. I don't recognize this Meltzer. I unfollowed him long ago because I can't stand the Twitter act. Now I'm blocked because I pointed out his own competing narratives.
@johnathaniblake@MeltzerSaidWhat@prowrestletimes He blocked me yesterday. I just pointed out the inconsistency in how he treats those Bethel MAX numbers. Dave wants it both ways. He doesn't want to attach himself to Bethel's #s because he knows those are misleading at best. But he still pushes them to feed the Aew narrative.
@davemeltzerWON Pick a side, Dave. You can't have it both ways. Bethel said he checked with you on Max numbers. You question Bethel's report. Claim is Bethel got the #'s from WBD. Tony Khan backed up Bethel's report. Which you question the validity of. Yet, you keep pushing the #'s you question.
