Attorney Jeffrey Kessler, Brendan Sorsby's representation, tells @CBSSports the NFL's decision today "is a violation of the CBA and the law. We will pursue this immediately with the NFLPA."
@LisaRawlsFit@On3 Shadeur Sanders dropped from a likely 2nd (maybe late 1st) to a 5th because of attitude and perceived lack of seriousness. If sorsby continues this suit on the NFL, bad things coming Lisa.
@iamstevemoulton@TomMarsLaw Steve. If it’s the reported 5 mil, it’s not enough to cover all this. He’ll be broke by the time he’s a 4th round pick in 2027.
Anyone who thinks this was just Goodell being mean…keep this in mind. Roger Goodell works for the owners. Do you think he made this call WITHOUT getting the owners thoughts?
@BrooksAustinBA I swear I think we share a brain. I wrote this exact stuff in a column for @SaturdayBlitz this afternoon (probably dropping tomorrow). Spray should fire Kessler tonight, tell Campbell to lose his number, show some humility and show the NFL that he is serious about recovery and compliance. Great show tonight.

So since gambling is easier now, and sportsbooks can advertise, betting on your own sport or own team is just not a thing? One of the silliest arguments Ive heard. I like @MikeFlorioPFT, but this is bad.

“Institutions cannot control court rulings, legal strategies or judicial outcomes,” Mohajir continued. “What we can control is playing time and the standards we set for participation in our programs.”

Joe Haden says most people have no idea how quickly an NFL contract disappears once taxes and family expenses hit.
“I signed a five-year, $50 million contract.”
“I had about $26.6 million guaranteed.”
“My first year, I got a $12 million signing bonus.”
“After taxes, I only touched around $7 million.”
“The first thing I did was give my parents $3 million.”
“Then I bought them a $1 million house.”
“So right away, about $5 million was gone.”
“I bought my brothers cars.”
“I bought myself a penthouse.”
“I got a Range Rover Sport and a Bentley GT.”
“People hear $50 million and think you’ve got $50 million sitting in the bank.”
“That’s not how it works.”
“You look up after all that and realize you might only have around $1 million left.”
“You start understanding real quick that a $50 million contract is not actually $50 million.”
“That’s why so many guys go broke.”
The injunction only temporarily barred the ncaa from enforcing its rules until a full hearing could happen. The Big 12 simply made an effort to enforce its rules, at the request of its members. They (TT) frankly should have reached a financial settlement with him and asked him to move on when the story broke. That is ultimately what happened anyway.
