Ironic that trauma informed practice is a buzz word just now. Reminds me when it was all about resilience. So firstly we had to learn to cope with poor conditions in social care and now we need to learn to heal from poor conditions. How's about stop the poor conditions?
The @psmn999 is an essential network. It brings together people who care deeply about their patients & have a genuine passion to improve the care they receive.
The experience in the room & the collaboration and support given is unparalleled, and has made me much better at my job
@KenCatchpole@DeakinSue1@ErgoFran@neilspenceley @HorsleyCarl Am on mat leave but I do still exist and am working in Scotland 👌 I’m in lead user research role in Scot Gov with social care support, rather than previous decade in NHS. Love Ackoff’s quote about better to do the right thing wrong than the wrong thing right! Love Neil & Carl!
As well as our MSc and PGCert we are now offering a part-time distance learning 20 credit course in applied Human Factors for those working in health systems, running for 13 weeks from April 15th 2024. https://t.co/3tKPXVCYbl

Using a co-design approach for healthcare improvements is rewarding, effective and fun.

@AinemCarroll Thank you ☺️ I posted pics of Stina at this age so thought it was the least I could do for Tova! We are so thrilled. Merry Christmas to you too 🥰

It’s hard to explain what it is like in services that support children & families at this time of year. A passionate & committed but weary children’s services workforce holding all the joy, the loss, the hope, & the hurt with & for families. No other job comes close imho.
Health isn’t an individual medical issue; it's a social & political one. Hence, population health improves due to collective, not just individual agency, which, in turn, means health improvement requires community building, not signposting or linking of individuals to activities:
@spbsurgery@greg_ekatah@RhonaFlin@NOTSS_lab@ggyrach@nikkimaran@RCSEd Some of the best, brightest, kindest, most determined and hilarious people I know 😌 Thank you for everything you have done for patients and staff within surgery and beyond through Scotland’s groundbreaking and innovative behavioural markers work. So nice to see you all together!
Excellent systems safety guidance, covering organization, supplies, workspace, task design, labelling and behaviors. A great example of how human factors engineering in anesthesia can be done in a straightforward practical way.

Pleased to see recommendations on #MarthasRule have gone to government. Thanks to @PSCommissioner for her hard work on making this happen. Patients deserve a stronger voice in their own care
