🙋🏿‍♀️ My “gifted” classes in Brooklyn (elementary and JHS) had a nice representation of Black folks. Once I got to my Manhattan city-wide specialized high school, which was essentially all “gifted”, I was often the only Black person in my classes of ~30 students.
