🚨 Our new research published in Psychological Medicine (@CambUP_Psych) found that average mental health symptoms in children increased, with more exceeding clinical cut-offs over time during the pandemic. However, after controlling for the linear effect of age (i.e., the typical rise in symptoms as kids grow), symptoms followed a curvilinear pattern—initial decline, then a rise post-COVID in the @AllOurFamilies cohort. Thanks to our participants, and my wonderful collaborators @BraeMcArthur@a_plamondon, J. Hewitt, @racinen2, @sheilawmcdonald, S. Tough, and @sherimadigan #ChildMentalHealth #COVID19
