@Rosiemillard Wonderful - after an elective at Jane Furse, I worked for your father in 1985 and again in 1989. Fond memories of him jumping up+down on ashtrays in the corridor outside ward 5 at the old St James Hospital, Balham.
Sterile surgical gowns and gloves protect patients from infection.
A raincoat and PPE both protect the wearer from drop-lets - they don't need to be sterile to do their job.
Why on earth was the government sourcing expensive sterile gowns as PPE?
14,353 days since I set foot on a ward as a newly fledged doctor.
Today is my 9,460th and final day as a substantive NHS consultant.
Regrets? A few?
Sad to leave? Hell no!
