Flying home overnight to my legendary husband and kids after six weeks away 🇺🇸 🇲🇽 🇨🇦

When I speak to students about getting into sports broadcasting, I share with them the reality of the industry as well as the evident positives.

If your partner is not on board with the hours, overnight shifts, weekends, potential weeks away, it’s highly stressful on your relationship you have a choice to make. If they back you and support you, you feel like the luckiest person on the planet.

That’s how I feel. So crazily fortunate and appreciative of their understanding and support.

Those cuddles are going to be immense. I’ve been dreaming of them for weeks ❤️

No matter how you feel about any on-air talent (which is always subjective), it's well worth noting the behind-the-scenes who make a massive tournament like this happen for an audience — operations people (true heroes of the biz), camera operators, remote directors and producers, engineering, audio, graphics, PR, and many, many others.

I always have massive admiration for the people who worked weeks and months to make this or the Olympics or any major event work — names that will never be as well known as the talent. Kudos.

My 1st assignment working for PRO after 15 years @ MLS was as "Coach/Mentor" to a young Ismail Elfath for his first pro year! I am so proud of his work and his appointment as the 1st USA Ref to work the middle of a World Cup Semi-Final! All the best to Ismail and his great crew!

Tough to come into a game w/o proper physical & mental readiness. Needed to trap the ball against the ground which at times can work as a 3rd hand. Failing that, had to parallel his body in front of & as close to the ball as possible!

Sad hearing this because he was the sport of ⚽️on television for generations. JP’s as talented as any in our Industry, and to say he helped make the sport cool 😎 before it was in our country would be an understatement. A Pro’s PRO in every sense of the word. The 2 American born broadcasters that worked hard to popularize the sport imo? IMO in the booth JP, and as a Host @BobLeyESPN (a spot now manned by the versatile @RobStoneONFOX.
