Accessible parking shouldn't be an issue we're still grappling with but alas here we are. Here's a pretty good PSA: https://t.co/iFrvEXgArI via @YouTube
Today I'm presenting to the Northwell Health System as part of their Health Equity Event about "Beyond Accommodations: Anti-Ableism in Psychology Training and Supervision". It's a new talk for me and I'm excited to share some practical strategies and try out Aha Slides as well.
@men_among_ruins@HannahWardEdu@thecavemommy Believe? Education has *also* allowed me to learn from Kant and Reid who added/critiqued Locke...but maybe more importantly teaching that life is rarely a binary "homeschool good/homeschool bad" and far more nuanced.
@thecavemommy@men_among_ruins@HannahWardEdu You can look back at your original post if you don't remember it...your post proclaimed ppl don't need degrees to homeschool because kids just "pick up" on things. You proposed it as a mind blowing theory. It's not. If you are so confident in your decision, why do you care?
@DisabledDoctor and if none of that matters to ppl, maybe care that it https://t.co/DFmjokflhT. (it=this strategy) That's not how people change their behavior. It IS how communities lose traction on shared concerns, distrust each other, and fail to communicate though.
@DisabledDoctor We all get to decide who we see personally as advocates but I find it pretty arrogant to think they get to proclaim who is and isn't an advocate. It should be more nuanced than this cycle of pics posted on social media, deciding its all of the story, and calling ppl out.
@DisabledDoctor With all of this context, yes-problematic. Making blanket assumptions about not masking at disabled events is also problematic. Again-you don't know/nor are owed explanations of when ppl do and don't. You're assuming reasons NOT to mask aren't ever disability-related.
“Why is their suffering acknowledged enough for euthanasia but not enough to fund clinical research?”
Lauren’s parents, after her death by euthanasia in 2024.
You know what really sucks?Pregnant women who are now too afraid to seek medical care because they’re scared of being harassed by agents.
Pregnancy already comes with risk. Delaying care isn’t a political statement, it’s dangerous. Missed prenatal visits, delayed ultrasounds, untreated complications… this is how preventable harm happens.
If people are afraid to go to the doctor, we have failed at the most basic level of a society.
You cannot claim to care about “life,” “families,” or “maternal health” while creating conditions where pregnant women are scared to seek medical care. Full stop.
SCOOP: Nursing home firms donated $4.8M to Trump's super PAC in Aug-Sept.
Their executives got a lunch in Aug. at Trump's golf club where they asked him to revoke a rule to increase staffing to prevent patient neglect.
His administration revoked the rule https://t.co/mlwx4w1DVA
