Thanks to the patients and the trial team. AVATAR presented at #ASTRO2023 #radonc @PeterMacRadOnc

The vast majority of T1NO, ER/PR+, HER- breast cancers have excellent outcomes w/ adjuvant RT alone. The addition of endocrine therapy after RT doesn’t improve LC or survival…but it does add years of side effects and cost. Patients need to know RT-alone is an option.

➡️VR s.s reduced patient anxiety (APAIS, STAI, LASA)
✔️Long-term anxiety reduction (only in LASA)
✔️VR s.s improved knowledge of RT procedure
✔️Pt satisfaction was higher in VR

(7) Cosmetic outcomes in the APBI group were mostly excellent or good (77.6%) at 24 months, and there was no significant cosmetic detriment from the baseline.

(6) Physician assessed, the APBI group had significantly less dermatitis at 12 months (1.0% vs. 7.2%; P=0.027) than the WBI group.

(1) Excited to share our recent paper on #APBI, which has been accepted in the @IJROBP! Check out our study on cosmetic outcome and toxicity in early breast cancer patients undergoing stereotactic APBI! 📚🔬 Proud of our team #Yonsei (@DrKIMRadOnco, @hkbyun_)

Phase III randomized study evaluated the role of internal mammary node irradiation (IMNI) in node-positive #breastcancer. IMNI did not improve the DFS in unselected patients, but did improve DFS in patients with medially or centrally located tumors https://t.co/tw4ZrHn5wn

[MedPage Oncology @MedpageOnco]

Internal mammary node irradiation failed to significantly improve survival outcomes for women with node-positive #breastcancer, reported @DrKIMRadOnco, PhD, at #ASTRO21.

Also, congrats to Pf. Chang-Ok Suh (corresponding author). It is an honor that our professors have represented our hospital and program so well on an international scale.

Please make sure to congratulate them on this incredible accomplishment!

[Stanford Radiation Oncology @StanfordRadOnc]

We are officially live! @StanfordRadOnc is incredibly proud to deliver the first radiation treatment on a patient using the Reflexion X1 machine. Huge congratulations to our team!!

[Yong Bae Kim @DrKIMRadOnco]

Yonsei Cancer Center published the use of VMAT for whole breast irradiation (e-pub Int J Cancer 2021 Feb). We are sure IMRT is the best methodology to do hypofractionated radiotherapy with little toxicity. #IMRT #breastcancer #radiotherapy

Two thumbs up for this nice review about MDT approach for autologous breast reconstruction by @KaidarOrit.
A careful reading of this review article is commended!!
