I always sound like a conspiracy theorist when I say this but things are not built how they used to be, i.e., made to last, made to be functional, etc., because of capitalism.
Really enjoyed our time at Enbio in Poland. Felt really good to dig into something new.
Darkside Tech is proud to be Enbio certified. The only group from Canada (and of only a handful from North America) to do training in Poland, and the only servicer in the Atlantic region.
Recently completed a retrofit job with a new @DCIDentalParts unit in a Dartmouth clinic. Adding a new shop fabricated face panel while preserving the Adec "COX" style rear delivery system, as well as upgrading a failing Halogen light with a @Flightdental Torch LED retrofit kit.
Darkside Technical is now the only Enbio certified technical service provider in the Atlantic Region🎉
Billed as being "the world's fastest Class B Autoclave", the Enbio S completes sterilization cycles in 15 minutes (including drying) which is 4x faster than typical!
@safe_hrm@Flightdental Hahaha. Fair comment.
Usually what you would see in other sterilizers is - very little space for hands to fit inside, and proprietary specialized parts that you can only get from a manufacturer who very likely isn't local to you.
Performing preventative maintenance on a @Flightdental chamber sterilizer reminds me of how much I appreciate this unit's simplicity.
It isn't over-engineered- it doesn't have over-complicated proprietary parts. Which means it is comparatively simple to keep working in the field
We again learned the basics of how to use a multimeter and looked into the interior of a washing machine.
The next clinic will be on the 2nd Saturday of April!
Thanks to all who made it out to the 4th Repair Clinic!
We repaired a +30 year old Eaton Viking clothes iron by replacing a defective chord and cleaning it up. We pointed out and spoke about the higher quality of manufacturing present during those days compared to today.
...
Also the fact that quality is not determined by which country an item is made. The best and worst quality things are made on the same street. How companies design and the quality they are prepared to pay for is what (to a large degree) determines end user quality and longevity

Kicking myself for not making a video, "Traversing" chairs are chairs that shift forward as their back tilts down. This allows the chair to be physically positioned closer to the rear cabinet, where supplies are kept. Making for better ergonomics.
Additionally, the chair allows the user to shift the patient physically forward/backward with ease + comfort, instead of asking the patient to scoot up or down.
My favorite design of chair, @EngleDental) currently makes one, which we happen to sell!😉

Worked on 2 old Pelton & Crane "Chairman" dental chairs this afternoon, for the first time in maybe 6 yrs.
I've been told that other local dental repair technicians have refused work on these, this chair was one of the first dental chairs I recieved training on.
