MONDAY WE MARCH FOR JUSTICE AND DIGNITY

The Kenya Medical Practitioners, Pharmacists and Dentists’ Union wishes to inform members, partners, and the public that the planned Kiambu demonstration, earlier scheduled for Wednesday, 8th October 2025, has been rescheduled to Monday, 13th October 2025.

This adjustment allows for further consultations with key stakeholders as we continue to demand accountability, respect for healthcare workers, and urgent action to restore functional, dignified healthcare systems in Kiambu and across the country.

The Kiambu health crisis, which has claimed over 136 innocent lives, reflects the deeper rot in our healthcare system, neglect, underfunding, and a blatant disregard for the welfare of both patients and doctors.

As @kmpdu, we remain resolute and united in our mission to defend the dignity of the medical profession and ensure quality healthcare for every Kenyan.

We call upon all doctors, health workers, and citizens who value life and justice to join us on Monday, 13th October 2025, in Kiambu as we peacefully demand change.

Our voices will not be silenced.

Yesterday, as the KMPDU Nairobi Branch leadership, we met with the KUTRRH management to finalize on the concluded CBA and address longstanding issues affecting doctors at KUTRRH, one of the major win will be conversion of all doctors to PnP. @kmpdu

Kenya Medical Practitioners, Pharmacists, and Dentists Union (KMPDU) and Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) have signed a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) covering July 2021 to June 2025 to address longstanding issues for doctors at KNH, such as wages, training, & employment.

This agreement marks a breakthrough in improving working conditions for healthcare professionals, whose dedication is vital to quality patient care. The CBA establishes a reliable foundation by enhancing doctors' well-being and service standards at KNH.

Dr. Malindi Chao is the secretary of @kmpdu Nairobi branch. The ONLY female branch secretary out of the 10.She leads the most important branch.
At such a time when the union is keen on bringing more ladies into its top leadership, it gives me immense joy to know that in Dr.Malindi they have a role model.
