@ebtapper @AusDrGupta @SahajRathi Sorry - i meant first bleed (not rebleed). The 'non-responders' (no HVPG reduction) are more likely to have decompensation and first variceal bleed. If we know who these patients are, variceal banding in this cohort would reduce risk of variceal bleed.

In patients with oesophageal varices treated with carvedilol (for primary prophylaxis), rate of non-response is up to 50%. Should we be trying to identify this cohort, and consider band ligation ? @AusDrGupta @SahajRathi @ebtapper

I find histoacryl + water polymerising within 19G FNA needle lumen
