🚨 In a new open-access article, I looked at how discrimination longitudinally disadvantages everyone in the classroom. Students, including White youth, had worse grades, test scores, and engagement when they witnessed discrimination from teachers directed at classmates of color.

I shifted my work away from an individual level approach to a systems approach bc I was becoming an "identity mascot," which became fertile ground for oppression olympics. Integrating systems help us to understand why identities exist in the first place.
